This initiative provides a platform for emerging and established women leaders from <a href="https://absafricatv.com/africa-bucks-white-wine-dominance-trend/” title=”Africa bucks white wine dominance trend”>Africa and China to exchange knowledge, build professional networks and develop leadership and policy skills.
Launched as a four-year initiative, Empower-Her will bring together 60 women per cohort—30 from Africa and 30 from China—through leadership development, policy dialogue, workshops, exchange opportunities, mentorship and networking.
The initiative responds to persistent gender gaps in education, STEM, digital skills, leadership and economic participation. It seeks to create stronger pathways for women and girls to access opportunities in emerging sectors while building a pipeline of women leaders and innovators.
Building skills, networks and leadership
Through annual forums and structured learning activities, participants will engage with experts and leaders, exchange experiences and develop skills in areas including leadership, entrepreneurship, digital transformation and policy engagement.
The initiative will also promote mentorship, internships, exchange visits and peer learning, helping participants build lasting professional and institutional connections between Africa and China.
A key element will be the development of a longer-term women leaders’ network and alumni community, supporting continued collaboration, joint initiatives and leadership pathways beyond the programme activities.
