Russia is set to host the Third Russia–Africa Summit on October 28–29, 2026, in Moscow, alongside the Russia–Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum. While Russian engagement in Africa remains limited, particularly compared with China or the US, Russia has significantly expanded its security diplomacy with Africa in recent years. Russia frames its African policy around building a multipolar world order, countering Western influence, and easing economic isolation, while African nations look for pragmatic, diversified partnerships, security support, and economic/agricultural value. The panel discussion will explore the current status and future trajectories of this relationship based on what each party wants from the other.
