Countries in Western and Central Africa face growing pressure on their health systems as financing tightens and health needs expand due to population growth, disease outbreaks, climate shocks, and a rising dual burden of disease. The Regional Health, Nutrition and Population strategy for Western and Central Africa, aligned with the Accra Reset, the Lusaka Agenda, and the World Bank Group’s UHC commitment to expand health services to 1.5 billion people by 2030—provides a framework to help countries prioritize and make strategic shifts within these constraints, while advancing the Africa Initiative for Medical Access and Manufacturing (AIM2030) to promote local manufacturing of essential health products to bolster health security, economic growth, and job creation.
Over 200 participants including:
- High-level policy makers, Government officials
- Development partners
- Health practitioners
- Private sector and civil society representatives.
