“I’m speaking to you just after the court provisionally canceled my bail. My lawyers have seen me, and they will continue with my case,” he said.

Khanyile also thanked MKP members, his friends, and former President Jacob Zuma for providing him with legal support.

“We were fighting against Zuma’s unjust treatment. No jail, fearmongering, sentence, or canceled bail will make me shift from what I stood for,” he added.

Court Proceedings and Arrest

KwaZulu-Natal National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Natasha Ramkisson-Kara confirmed that Khanyile failed to appear when his trial was set to begin on Monday, March 4, 2025. His lawyer withdrew from the case, citing no knowledge of his whereabouts.

As a result, the court issued a warrant of arrest and provisionally terminated his bail, which will be officially forfeited on March 17, 2025.
