TotalEnergies CAF Futsal AFCON: Morocco sweep past Libya to finish top of Group A

Morocco completed a dominant group-stage campaign at the TotalEnergies CAF Futsal Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2026 with a convincing 6-0 victory over Libya on Friday, finishing top of Group A with a perfect record.

The defending champions delivered another commanding performance at the Moulay Abdellah Sports Hall in Rabat, with Soufiane El Mesrar scoring a hat-trick and Othmane Elidrissi adding a brace as the hosts maintained their momentum heading into the semi-finals.

El Mesrar set the tone early, opening the scoring in the third minute before doubling Morocco’s advantage in the eighth minute to put the hosts firmly in control.

Morocco continued to dictate the contest, and Othmane Elidrissi extended their lead in the 12th minute, giving Hicham Dguig’s side a comfortable cushion as they sought to maintain their unbeaten run.

El Mesrar struck again in the 24th minute to complete his hat-trick, further underlining Morocco’s attacking quality and putting the result beyond Libya’s reach.

The hosts added two more goals in the 30th minute, with Elidrissi finding the net for his second of the match before Bilal Bakkali completed the scoring to seal an emphatic 6-0 victory.

The result confirms Morocco’s position at the summit of Group A, having won all three of their group matches. The defending champions now turn their attention to the semi-finals as they continue their pursuit of a fourth consecutive continental title.
