Reports began surfacing late Thursday that former President Bill Clinton had been admitted to the University of California Irvine Medical Center in Orange, California on Tuesday.
“On Tuesday evening, President Clinton was admitted to UCI Medical Center to receive treatment for a non-Covid-related infection,” Clinton’s spokesman, Angel Urena, said in a statement.
“He is on the mend, in good spirits, and is incredibly thankful to the doctors, nurses, and staff providing him with excellent care,” Urena added.
The Hill is reporting that two sources have claimed Clinton was hospitalized due to sepsis.

Bill Clinton Hospitalized
It’s rather shocking in today’s 24/7 media world that the Clinton camp was able to keep news of Bill Clinton being hospitalized out of the headlines for over 48 hours.
I’m not sure Trump would have been afforded the same discretion or caution.
What isn’t startling, however, is that Hillary reportedly didn’t visit her husband in the hospital until first attending a Clinton Foundation fundraiser on Thursday.
“Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was not in California when her husband was hospitalized, but she flew here and attended the foundation event Thursday and then joined the former president in Irvine afterwards,” the Los Angeles Times revealed.
Bill Clinton’s doctors and staff tell @drsanjaygupta they believe he has a blood infection – known as sepsis – and that he will stay in hospital for at least another day. He’s responding well to antibiotics.

Fox News reports that Hillary and her top aide, Huma Abedin, were seen leaving the hospital “just after midnight Friday.”
The Hill article notes that “sepsis is an extreme response to an infection and is a life-threatening medical emergency.”
An aide, according to the New York Times though, suggested Bill Clinton’s sepsis “was not considered to be acute.”

Hillary Got Around To Visiting Eventually
The Clinton Foundation emailed members to keep them abreast of the situation.
“We know that everyone is sending best wishes to the President, Secretary Clinton, and Chelsea and the rest of the Clinton family,” they wrote.
Aside from attending foundation fundraisers, the former First Lady has also been busy promoting her new book, “State of Terror,” something she has described as her “first foray into fiction.”

Earlier this week, in an interview with ABC News’ “Good Morning America,” Mrs. Clinton said she will “never be out of the game of politics.”
“I’m not going to be running for anything,” Clinton added, but believes “our democracy is at stake” and she must remain active.

“They said that Clinton was in the ICU for privacy and safety, not because he needs intensive care.”
But wait, I thought ICUs were all over capacity and people were dying while waiting for open beds.

As for Bill Clinton, doctors expressed optimism that he’d be going home soon.
“After two days of treatment, his white blood cell count is trending down and he is responding to antibiotics well,” the doctors said in a joint statement.
“The California-based medical team has been in constant communication with the President’s New York-based medical team, including his cardiologist,” they added.
“We hope to have him go home soon.”
