Not only would Champions League success add a second star to Orlando Pirates’ crest, but it also unlocks a R75.5 million reward, putting them in good stead for the offseason market as they continue their pursuit of Fawaaz Basadien and Jaedin Rhodes.

Standing in their way of a final berth is Pyramids FC, who have enjoyed a prolific campaign, finishing first in the regular season and currently two wins from two in the nine-team playoffs.

Jose Riveiro will be wary of Kaizer Chiefs target Fiston Mayele after the striker bagged a brace in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Their first of two legs kick-off tomorrow (18:00).

    Mabasa and Mbatha wanted abroad

Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates duo Tshegofatso Mabasa and Thalente Mbatha have Championship side Sunderland acquiring their services.

“It’s the same club [Sunderland] interested in another Pirates player, Thalente Mbatha. It’s believed that when the scouts came to look at Mbatha they were also happy with Mabasa, and they had to assess him further in other games and apparently they were happy and they have enquired about him. So, Sunderland are the club interested in Tshegofatso Mabasa,” SoccerLaduma reported.

    Riveiro wanted in Morocco

According to reports, Wydad Athletic are eyeing Jose Riveiro.

“The Spaniard recently confirmed that he will leave the Buccaneers when his contract expires at the end of the season,” KickOff confirmed, before adding that, “The report adds that Riveiro’s salary is believed to be significantly lower than Mokwena’s, and the Moroccan giants are currently working towards parting ways with their coach by mutual consent.”

    Who should Orlando Pirates hire?
