Rassie Erasmus weighs in on Springbok and Sharks scrumhalf Jaden Hendrikse’s actions in the dramatic Vodacom URC clash against Munster at Kings Park.

Erasmus took to social media after Hendrikse came under fire for his antics in the URC quarter-final last week. The playmaker sparked Irish media outrage after a penalty shootout in Durban, where the Sharks edged Munster 6-4.

ICYMI: Sharks slammed for ‘shameless gamesmanship’

Cameras caught Hendrikse winking at Munster flyhalf Jack Crowley after going down with an apparent calf cramp, delaying Crowley’s second kick. The Munster No 10 reacted furiously, telling a Sharks medic to “f**k off” as they finally cleared the spot.

Erasmus posted a close-up image on Twitter of Hendrikse’s calf muscle twitching, adding only a shrug emoji – a subtle nod suggesting the criticism was overblown.

The win saw Hendrikse, his brother Jordan and fellow scrumhalf Bradley Davids nail their kicks to seal a semi-final showdown with the Bulls at Loftus on Saturday.
