Group leaders Egypt have unveiled a formidable starting lineup for their crucial Group I encounter against Iran, with captain Mohamed Salah leading the charge as the Pharaohs look to maintain their place at the summit of the standings

Head coach Hossam Hassan has entrusted Mohamed El Shenawy in goal behind a back four of Mohamed Hany, Mohamed Abdelmonem, Rami Rabia and Ahmed Fattouh. Mahmoud Saber and Mohanad Lasheen are expected to anchor the midfield, providing the platform for the attacking trio of Mostafa Ziko, skipper Mohamed Salah and Ebrahim Ashour

Mahmoud Hassan “Trezeguet” spearheads the attack as Egypt aim to continue their impressive campaign and tighten their grip on top spot

Iran, meanwhile, head into the contest rooted to the bottom of the four-team group and in desperate need of a positive result to revive their hopes. Amir Abedzadeh starts between the posts, protected by a five-man defence comprising Milad Mohammadi, Armin Nemati, Shoja Khalilzadeh, Hossein Kanaani and Ramin Rezaeian

The midfield trio features Saeid Ezatolahi, Mohammad Ghorbani and Saman Ghoddos, while captain Mehdi Taremi partners Mohammad Mohebi in a two-man attack
