We’ve seen lots and lots of great players over the years in the epl and to fit just five into a team is a difficult ask but here we go

    1. Peter Schmeichel – Extraordinary shot stopper, feisty, commanded his box very well, strong fists, athletic. He had it all and had about 120+ cleansheets to back it up so definitely had to be on this list

    2. JohnTerry – Fantastic leader, definitely not slow, agile, solid. Captained Chelsea to a host of titles during his time there. Terry has the most clean sheets of any single defender in Premier League history and is also the highest scoring defender in Premier League history.

    3. Patrick Viera – If ever there was a player who could destroy and build-up it was viera. Probably the best box to box midfielder the pl has seen. Could break up play at one end and create at the other. He slightly edges Makele off this list due to his dual functions.

    4. Cristiano Ronaldo – Quick, had flair, great dribbler, great finisher, set piece expert and a desire to entertain. Anything you needed from an attacker was embedded in him. The only way pl player to win the ballon d’or. Definitely had to be on this list.

    And lastly

    5. Thiery Henry – The french man was simply magical. His strength, mazy runs, ability to beat his man , ability to spot a pass, composure in his finishing were what made him stand out as one of the start players for Wenger’s invincibles. He was the ultimate forward.
