The season which began with a new manager and big money signings ended with…a sixth place finish in the league, the shield, efl cup trophy, europa league trophy and champions league qualification for next season….
I chose to write on united because there has been a lot of mixed reactions coming from managers and players throwing jabs and sly digs at united and belittling their achievements…..well I think any one who wants to be impartial will agree with me that united’s season has been a HUGE success
    1. United faced the most injury woes in the league from shaw to young to ibra to pogba to martial …the list really is endless and it was a continuous cycle through the season
    2. With these injuries, they played more games than any other side in the league
    3. United fielded the highest number of starting line ups due to injuries thereby reducing compatibility
    4. United as a normally attacking minded side was being managed by a defensively minded coach…4 d first time
I also hear criticism directed at pogba ..but i ll like for those criticizing to call 5 central midfielders who came to england and in his first season scored more than 10 goals
Some may see this as excuses but i think these are inexcusable facts
On to rafa benitez who says europa is not a serious cup…https://www.google.com.ng/amp/www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/european/rafa-benitezs-parting-gift-for-chelsea-europa-league-glory-for-the-blues-8618073.html%3Famp ……here he was validating his time at chelsea using the europa league..
United can do better than they are doing right now with better commitment from the players but it is unimaginable to me to say their season was dissapointing….
What do you think of united’s season???
