Kaizer Chiefs management appears to be backing Nasreddine Nabi until the end of the season despite mixed results.

Amakhosi have accumulated 29 points from 22 league matches so far this season. The club finished 10th last campaign, which was the lowest finish in their history since the inception of the Premier Soccer League (PSL). Nabi was employed to bring the club back to its glory days and he aims to end their 10-year trophy drought.

Kaizer Chiefs’ marketing director, Jessica Motaung told FARPost that the management is backing Nabi and his technical team.

“I think all I can say is we have a technical team, we have a coach, they’re doing the work, and they have the support to do the work,” she told the publication.

“We obviously know that this is a long game. We didn’t get into this thinking we’d have quick results. But certainly, I think the lessons are there. The analysis is there. The football team is working well with the coaches to ensure that things that must be addressed are addressed.”

Nabi has the full backing of Kaizer Chiefs management

“And my encouragement to the supporters is to support the team and ensure we make it to the finish line for the season. But there is a lot of learning and a need for more consistency. And there’s work behind the scenes to ensure that is done,” Motaung said.

With Nabi getting the full backing of the Kaizer Chiefs management, the Tunisian will look at pre-season to try to improve the team. Amakhosi can still end the season on a high if they win the Nedbank Cup.

    Will Nabi turn Chiefs around?
