South African Tourism has launched its new global brand campaign, titled ‘South Africa Awaits — Come Find Your Joy!’.

As reported by African Travel & Tourism Association, this initiative aims to inspire international travellers to explore the country’s rich array of cultural, scenic, and adventure experiences.

Introduced in late March, the campaign seeks to establish South Africa as a premier tourism destination while aligning with the national visitor growth objectives outlined in the National Development Plan.

At the heart of the campaign is a captivating television advertisement produced in collaboration with local agency, Avatar. It features prominent South African personalities, including musician and producer Zakes Bantwini, chef Wandile Mabaso and music by the talented Vusi Mahlasela.

Narrated from a child’s perspective, the ad showcases vibrant scenes from Johannesburg to the Cape Winelands, fostering emotional connections and celebrating cultural authenticity.

With an ambitious target of attracting 15 million annual visitors by 2030, South African Tourism views this campaign as a crucial strategy in accelerating recovery and boosting international interest.
