Off-season is the best time to book an affordable luxury stay in South Africa. Crackling fireplaces ready, fine-dining menus set, and warm bubble baths drawn, Tintswalo has launched two very tempting winter escapes, at its two distinctive Cape Town properties.

From May through August, guests can snag reduced rates and extra perks at these boutique hotels—each offering a completely different slice of Cape coastal magic:

    Ocean at your doorstep

Tucked beneath Chapman’s Peak Drive, Tintswalo Atlantic has earned its stripes as one of Cape Town’s most sought-after stays. The appeal is in luxury suites perched so close to the Atlantic that sea spray sometimes mists the windows during high tide.

Their winter package costs R10,150 per night for two and includes some serious foodie perks.

This includes a welcome wine and sunset canapés, and guests will also experience Liam Tomlin’s acclaimed Chefs Warehouse Tintswalo Atlantic, with a 4-course tapas meal for two included in the rate. Stay multiple nights and you can switch things up with the 3-course menu from the Residents’ à la carte selection. Mornings bring what previous guests rave about—Tintswalo’s lavish breakfast spread served as waves crash dramatically against the shoreline just meters away.

    Penguin paradise

Across the peninsula, Tintswalo Boulders offers a completely different atmosphere.

The elegant guesthouse is a stone’s throw away from the famous penguin colony at Boulders Beach. The winter deal (R4,400-R5,400 per night) includes canapés at sunset, a hearty three-course dinner, and their signature breakfast.

Naval-themed rooms open to spacious terraces where you can spot penguins waddling about below. When Cape winter winds howl, retreat to fireside lounges or take a dip in the heated rooftop pool. The new spa offers treatments for those seeking extra pampering, and families will appreciate the dedicated playroom for kids.

Both properties have perfected the luxury, indulgent winter getaway. Deep bathtubs, plush robes, room service delivered to your bed while storm-watching from floor-to-ceiling windows awaits. Book your stay here.
