The Hollywoodbets Super League resumed this past weekend following a brief hiatus due to Banyana Banyana’s international friendlies against Malawi, and the return to domestic action saw newly promoted Ezemvelo FC secure their first win of the season, while defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies continued their perfect start in the weekend on Saturday, 12 April, 2025.

Ezemvelo FC, one of the league’s newcomers, earned their maiden victory by defeating early pacesetters Copperbelt Ladies 2-0. Substitute Anele Douglas broke the deadlock in the 89th minute, and Amanda Mkhize sealed the win in stoppage time. This result handed Copperbelt their first loss of the 2025 campaign and propelled Ezemvelo to 10th place in the standings.

TS Galaxy Queens delivered a commanding performance, thrashing Royal AM Ladies 5-0. Gontse Homba (14’ and 63’) and Nicole Michael (21’ and 79’) each netted a brace, while Sibahle Maneli added a fifth goal. This emphatic win boosts TS Galaxy’s confidence as they aim for top honours this season.

Defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies continued their flawless start with a 2-0 victory over the University of Cape Town. Goals from Modikanalo Mashigo and Boitumelo Rabale secured their third consecutive win.

Midfielder Kholosa Biyana praised the team’s preparation and adaptability to turf conditions:

“I think we had a great game. We got three points and I think we scored two goals. We normally scored one in the past few games. I think it’s good positives to take into the next game. Two goals and three points.”

“The great thing about this game is that coach prepared us. We trained on turf in the past two training sessions. I think the weather is different but I’m glad it rained because if it was hot I think the turf would have given us a bigger challenge. I think going into the next few games we’ll take the three points.

A solitary goal from Khutso Mogano was enough for TUT Matsatsantsa to claim a 1-0 win over JVW FC at the TUT Main Campus. The closely contested match showcased the competitive nature of the league.

City Lads secured a narrow 1-0 victory against Durban Ladies through Nasiphi Ntatyana’s first-half goal, leaving the latter still in search of their first win this season. Durban Ladies now find themselves in 15th place, just above fellow KwaZulu-Natal strugglers Royal AM FC.

The University of Pretoria edged the University of Fort Hare 3-2 in a thrilling encounter at the Tuks Main Stadium. Goals from Zanile Khoza (35’), Mamokena Menoe (37’), and S’bahle Ndlovu (50’) secured the win for AmaTuks, despite a late surge from the visitors with goals by Nosikho Magqaza (66′) and Kesha Hendricks (87′).
