Graskop Gorge Lift Co in Mpumalanga is offering even more reasons to visit, with the launch of two new experiences: the Cliff Café, a tucked-away forest eatery, and the Next-Level Walk, a scenic no-harness path that winds along the edge of the gorge.

The Next-Level Walk opens up once-inaccessible terrain along the cliff face, giving visitors a thrilling, but safe, way to explore panoramic views that were previously the domain of rock climbers and drones, as reported by Travel News.

The walk leads to the newly opened Cliff Café — a ‘café-in-the-forest’ concept that provides a tranquil rest stop in the treetops.

Both attractions are accessed via the iconic Graskop Gorge Lift, which takes visitors 51 metres down the cliff into an Afromontane forest. Upon reaching the mid-level, guests can head left to follow the cliff-hugging walkways or turn right to relax at the café.

The trail eventually reconnects with the Forest Trail, a guided path of suspension bridges and raised boardwalks designed to teach guests about the surrounding ecology.

Since its launch in 2017, the Graskop Gorge Lift has been a pioneering adventure hub — the first of its kind in South Africa. The new additions build on its legacy of immersive, family-friendly nature experiences.

While the scenic lift is closed for maintenance until 24 June, visitors can still reach the forest trail, café, and mid-level walk by descending a 300-step staircase. All other attractions and restaurants remain open, and regular entrance fees apply.
