Maqam Travels, one of Uganda’s leading Hajj and Umrah travel agencies, has partnered with Salam TV to officially launch the #HajjOnTime campaign, an initiative aimed at encouraging timely registration for Hajj 2026. The launch event, held on Monday, was marked by a powerful prayer led by Sheikh Kasule Abdulrahman, setting the tone for a campaign built on spiritual purpose and practical planning.
The campaign responds to a recurring challenge: many Ugandans delay Hajj payments, leading to logistical bottlenecks. Sheikh Mafo Shafic, Managing Director of Maqam Travels, called on all stakeholders, including media, Hajj operators, religious leaders, and the public, to champion early preparation: “We’re launching #HajjOnTime to fight against late payments that leave many stranded. Let’s work together to make this journey easier for all.”
Sheikh Abdulhamid Nsubuga, from the Uganda Bureau of Hajj Affairs, reminded Ugandans that Saudi Arabia’s registration system closes by December 25th and final arrangements must be complete before Ramadan.
Backing this campaign is Salam TV, Uganda’s only Islamic television station, committed to educational and culturally relevant Islamic content. Hajji Karim Kaliisa, Managing Director of Salam TV and Salam Charity, reaffirmed their role: “We must amplify this campaign and ensure every Muslim hears about it. We’ve covered past Hajj journeys extensively, reaching over 700 Ugandan pilgrims last year.”
Maqam Travels also confirmed that Hajj 2026 registration is now open at $6,400 per person.
Available on GoTV Channel 392, Startimes Channel 293, and the Afro Mobile app, Salam TV continues to play a key role in connecting Ugandan Muslims to vital faith-based initiatives, making campaigns like #HajjOnTime possible, visible, and impactful.
