FIFA has confirmed that the ticketing programme for the FIFA World Cup 26™ will launch in phases, beginning with the first draw application window on Wednesday, 10 September 2025.

Football fans are encouraged to visit FIFA.com/tickets to register their interest and create a FIFA ID, making them eligible for ticket updates and future purchasing opportunities.

Most coveted seats in world sport

“Following the incredible success of the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, excitement is reaching new heights for the FIFA World Cup 26,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming the world back to North America, as Canada, Mexico, and the United States host what will be the biggest and greatest sporting event ever. We encourage fans everywhere to get ready to secure their place—these will be the most coveted seats in world sport.”

    A tournament of firsts

Set to be the largest FIFA World Cup ever, the 2026 tournament will feature 48 teams, 104 matches, and an estimated 6.5 million spectators across three host countries—the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

The action begins with the opening match in Mexico City on Thursday, June 11, 2026, and culminates with the final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Sunday, July 19, 2026.

Ticket sales and what to expect

Due to the expected high demand, FIFA will release tickets in multiple sales phases between September 10, 2025, and the final match day in July 2026. Each phase may involve different:

    • Purchasing procedures

    • Payment methods

    • Ticketing products

Details for each ticketing phase will be announced in the coming months.

Fans must create a FIFA ID to participate in the draw and ticket purchase process. Registered users will receive notifications about sales dates, instructions, and further eligibility requirements.

Hospitality and team packages already available

For those wanting a premium experience, hospitality packages—which include match tickets—are already on sale via FIFA.com/hospitality.

Fans can also secure a Follow My Team package, designed to let them follow their favourite national team through the group stage and Round of 32, should the team qualify.

    Buy only from official channels

FIFA has reiterated that tickets should only be purchased from the official site. Tickets bought from third-party or unofficial sources may be invalid. Additionally, a match ticket does not guarantee entry into the host countries, and fans are advised to check entry requirements on the respective governments’ websites.

Visa remains FIFA’s Official Payment Technology Partner and is the preferred method for purchasing tickets and hospitality products.
