Music has always had the power to move people—but what happens when melodies become a movement? Music for Water is answering that question by uniting artistry with activism to address one of the world’s most urgent needs: access to clean water.

At its core, Music for Water is more than a campaign. It is a movement that blends the universal language of music with the pressing fight for clean water, sanitation, and hygiene in underserved communities. The flagship single, “We Are The Leaders for Clean Water,” is both an anthem and a call-to-action. It seeks not only support but engagement—inviting humanitarian leaders and ordinary citizens alike to stand up for the millions living without safe water.

Unlike traditional music projects, Music for Water is a charitable initiative. Every participating artist uses their voice as an instrument of change, drawing attention to the global water crisis and helping women, girls, and entire communities build a path out of poverty through access to clean water.

The song that started it all

“We Are The Leaders for Clean Water” is the official music video and anthem of the Music for Water campaign. Written by Lacey “G Souldier” Turner and performed by Turner alongside Shawna Linzy, Liso Dingwall, and Pyrexx Singz, the track embodies the spirit of unity and purpose. Produced by JB Dondolo International Records (J.B.D.I.R.), the song stands apart as a charitable campaign piece, using music—the world’s “universal medium and ambassador”—to ignite awareness of the global clean water crisis. With its powerful message and collaborative artistry, the song reminds listeners that everyone has a role to play in ensuring water flows where it is needed most.

    Meet the artists driving change

    Shawna Linzy

From pageants to the stage, Shawna Linzy’s journey is a story of persistence and purpose. A singer, songwriter, and award-winning actress, Shawna has wowed audiences with tracks like “Jesus,” which hit #1 globally, and her competition-winning song “Live Love.” Beyond her music, Shawna is a Voices for Change honoree and a lead actress Off-Broadway. Her artistry is not just performance—it is leadership, as she lends her voice to a movement that inspires empathy and action.

    Liso Dingwall

For Thuliso “Liso” Dingwall, art has always been about storytelling. From lead roles in Romeo & Juliet and Macbeth to winning the Music for Water competition in 2020, Liso has proved himself as a multi-talented actor and musician. His powerful performances, both on stage and through song, channel his creativity into a mission that uplifts communities worldwide.

    G Souldier

Lacey “G Souldier” Turner embodies versatility. A rapper, filmmaker, journalist, author, and activist, he weaves creativity with purpose. From award-nominated songs like Rescue You to directing more than 16 films, G Souldier is a storyteller in every sense. His humanitarian work, including serving on the advisory board of the JB Dondolo Organization, underscores his belief that music and art should always serve humanity. His latest album, The Weight Of My Name, continues this legacy.

    Pyrexx Singz

Stephen Daniel Kurah, better known as Pyrexx Singz, is proof that music and education can go hand in hand. The Nigerian artist, comedian, and educator has inspired students in classrooms as much as he has on stage. With a forthcoming album, Pyrexx is building his presence across Northern Nigeria and beyond, using his music to motivate audiences while tackling big issues like clean water access.

    Why it matters

Clean water is not just a basic need—it is a right. Yet millions across the globe, particularly in developing regions, still live without it. By blending entertainment with impact, Music for Water transforms listening into action. Every stream, every stage performance, and every shared lyric becomes part of a collective solution.

At the GRAMMYs, where music’s influence reaches every corner of the globe, Music for Water amplifies its message: art can do more than entertain. It can empower. It can heal. And it can open the taps for communities that have been dry for far too long.

When music flows, so does water. And when water flows, communities thrive.
