The Springboks demolished the All Blacks 43-10 in New Zealand without the likes of Handre Pollard, Eben Etzebeth, Wille le Roux, Jessie Kriel, Damian de Allende, Franco Mostert and Vincent Koch.

So, these up-and-coming future stars took their opportunity with both hands when it mattered most – with the Freedom Cup on the line and the Boks Rugby Championship life on the line in NZ. Meanwhile, a couple of players proved why they should be starting in the green and gold.

DEAR RASSIE ERASMUS, THESE SPRINGBOKS DESERVE TO START MOVING FORWARD

RG Snyman and Manie Libbok both had to come on as replacements in the first half, and both men flourished. Not only did they handle their roles, but they exceeded all expectations. Snyman put in a huge display at lock, he was flawless in the lineouts, dynamic and powerful on the ball and he brought X factor to the Springboks attack with his ability to free his arms to offload in the tackle. The URC Players’ Player of the Season deserves a chance to start.

Meanwhile, Libbok was simply superb against the All Blacks. He has always been excellent on attack, but critics have often questioned his goal-kicking. However, that is now a much-improved aspect of his agme. Libbok kicked 6/7 kicks with five conversions and a penalty in Wellington. Following this performance and Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu’s injury, Libbok deserves to get a start at 10.

Finally, Damian Willemse simply has to start moving forward. He was excellent at 12 and 15. He not only played his way back into the picture but he bashed down the selection door.

Meanwhile, there is no doubt that Canan Moodie and Ethan Hooker will be causing Rassie some selection headaches in the future.
