This summer, Cape Town’s hospitality scene gains a striking new addition: The Cole, an ocean-facing boutique hotel by the Kove Collection, opening December 2025 in Sea Point.

Perched at 1 Church Road on the Atlantic Seaboard, the property introduces 60 suites with sweeping views of both the Atlantic Ocean and the city’s iconic mountain backdrop. More than just a stay, The Cole promises a complete lifestyle experience, blending bold design, laidback luxury and Kove Collection’s signature flair for detail.

Paul Kovensky, Founder and Managing Director of Kove Collection, stated: “This property will offer a sanctuary for the sun seeker – the traveller with a love for both ocean and city. We’ve created The Cole as a space to welcome this guest – somewhere where bold design meets effortless luxury, and where they can feel completely at ease while enjoying the very best in hospitality and location.”

    A social hub by design

At the heart of the hotel is Script, a cocktail bar with a twist. Drinks here are more than beverages. Each one is crafted as a “chapter” in a guest’s journey, turning mixology into a story told through taste, scent and atmosphere.

On the rooftop, Figo invites guests into a Mediterranean frame of mind. The restaurant celebrates seasonality and simplicity with handmade semolina pasta, wood-fired cooking and vibrant coastal flavours, all paired with panoramic views of Sea Point’s shoreline. Kovensky calls it “a love letter to the Mediterranean, translated through the natural beauty of Cape Town.”

    Style and serenity

Travellers can extend their experience at Boutique Marly, showcasing 24 designer labels of resort wear, swimwear and accessories. For relaxation, The Cole’s Urban Spa offers an indulgent mix of saunas, a cold plunge, couples’ treatments and a hot slab facility, ensuring that wellness is woven into every stay.

    Part of a legacy

The Cole joins Kove Collection’s growing portfolio of over 20 luxury properties, including celebrated hotels like The Marly and The Alphen. Known for pairing exceptional dining, wellness, and entertainment, the group continues to define Cape Town’s reputation as a world-class destination.

As the city recently claimed the title of “Best City in the World” by Time Out Media and “Best City for Food” by Condé Nast Traveler, The Cole is set to become another reason global travellers turn their gaze to Cape Town.

Bookings are now open at thecole.co.za
