The Infrastructure Africa 2026 Conference & Exhibition will take place from 2 – 3 March 2026 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, Cape Town, convening governments, financiers, developers, and private sector leaders to unlock opportunities and accelerate Africa’s infrastructure-led growth.
Africa’s infrastructure and energy sectors are experiencing rapid growth yet remain critical areas for investment. In the past decade, nearly 100 million people across the continent have gained access to electricity, but more than 600 million Africans still lack reliable power, representing over 80% of the world’s energy-deprived population. The continent’s renewable energy capacity reached approximately 67 GW in 2024, with South Africa, Egypt, and Ethiopia leading expansion, and South Africa alone has more than tripled its renewable capacity since 2015. Energy remains the dominant focus of infrastructure financing, capturing 41% of private capital deal volume and 57% of deal value in Africa between 2012 and 2023. With solar and wind accounting for nearly two-thirds of installed renewable capacity and the African Continental Free Trade Area unlocking vast opportunities, the momentum is clear: infrastructure and energy development are central to driving Africa’s economic transformation.
The event will showcase how transformative projects across energy, transport, digital, urban and industrial infrastructure are reshaping Africa’s economic future. With the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) creating a single market of 1.4 billion people, infrastructure is the backbone enabling trade, industrialisation, and sustainable development.
