NCM expects clear-to-partly cloudy skies, patchy early fog, and calm seas as temperatures hover around the 40°C mark

Good morning, UAE. If you’re heading out early, expect sticky air and the possibility of light fog or mist in places, especially near the coast and over some inland stretches. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) says Monday will be mostly clear to partly cloudy, with cloud build-ups more likely over the eastern areas as the day warms.

Heat remains the headline. Forecast highs are around 41°C in Abu Dhabi and about 40°C in Dubai and Sharjah, with overnight lows near 30°C. Humidity ramps up on both coasts, up to roughly 85% in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, so that short walk to the car might feel like a mini steam room. Hydration and shade breaks are your friend today.

Winds will be light to moderate, shifting from southeasterly to northwesterly through the day at 10 to 25km/h, peaking at around 35km/h in brief spells. Sea lovers can exhale: conditions are calm in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, making it a decent day for a gentle waterside stroll or a post-work beach visit, just mind the humidity.

If you’re dropping kids at school or tackling a long commute, watch visibility at dawn. Fog patches can thicken without much warning; keep headlights on low beam, leave space, and resist the urge to out-drive it. Once the sun’s up, haze should lift, but the air stays heavy, so plan errands for cooler windows (early morning or after sunset) and keep outdoor workouts to easier efforts.

Looking ahead to tonight and early Tuesday, humidity stays elevated, which means another chance of fog or light fog returning in some coastal and inland areas. In the afternoon, clouds may gather over the east again, nothing dramatic, just the usual late-day build. In short: lingering summer heat, a few morning visibility hiccups, and that classic late-September humidity pulse.

We’ll keep an eye on any updates from NCM. For now, grab water, give yourself a few extra minutes on the road, and save the long outside plans for the breezier hours.
