A highly rated New Zealand forward is set to feature in the Vodacom URC.

Fletcher Anderson, a 22-year-old No 8 from the Crusaders, will make the move to Llanelli’s Scarlets after an impressive 2025 season in Super Rugby and the NPC.

Anderson broke into the Crusaders squad this year, making three appearances in their title-winning campaign, before going on to scoop Man of the Year, Player of the Year and Defender of the Year honours with the Tasman Makos.

Scarlets coach Dwayne Peel believes the New Zealander will add much-needed punch to their pack.

“Fletcher is a hugely talented young New Zealand forward who has had an outstanding season for Tasman in the NPC and has already represented the Crusaders in Super Rugby,” Peel said.

“He is a powerful, abrasive carrier with a strong work-rate in defence. We are excited about what he can offer us and look forward to welcoming him to Llanelli ahead of a massive block of fixtures for us in the URC and Champions Cup.”

    PEEL: Stormers set the standard

Standing 1.87m and weighing 109kg, Anderson came through the Crusaders Academy system and represented New Zealand Schools in 2020.

The Scarlets are currently bottom of the URC log after two defeats, including a 34-0 home loss to the Stormers last Friday. They will face the Lions and Sharks in South Africa over the next fortnight.
