Kaizer Chiefs legend Bernard Parker has faced the wrath of Amazulu midfielder Bongani Zungu via Instagram.

The trouble began when Parker, who retired in July 2024 after that horrific leg break while playing for TS Galaxy, appeared on Behind The Boot Podcast with Mazola Molefe.

During the chat, the former Amakhosi captain claimed Zungu never apologised for the challenge that ended his career.

KAIZER CHIEFS LEGEND BERNARD PARKER ACCUSED OF LIES

The 33-year-old Zungu logged in on Instagram to set the record straight, and he brought receipts.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns superstar posted a screenshot of a direct message chat with Parker from right after the incident, showing a heartfelt apology that Parker had not only read but accepted.

“Hi bro, I am deeply sorry about what happened,” read Zungu’s message. “It wasn’t my intention to hurt you. I hope the injury is not serious. Be strong, bro. I am deeply sorry, brother. Hope you find it in your heart to forgive me. Speedy recovery.”

Parker’s reply, according to the screenshot, was clear: “Apology accepted bro. You are forgiven. God bless you abundantly.”

Zungu’s caption for the post? Short, sharp, and spicy: “Mxm, your legends and lies.”

    WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

Since his early retirement, the 39-year-old Parker has joined TS Galaxy’s coaching setup, starting in the junior ranks before moving up to form part of the Betway Premiership technical team this season.

Meanwhile, Zungu continues to compete in the top flight with Amazulu. The Duduza-born midfielder has made four appearances this season, after featuring 17 times last term. His glittering career includes four league titles with Mamelodi Sundowns and European stints at Amiens (France), Rangers (Scotland), and Vitória Guimarães (Portugal).

Parker’s football journey was equally decorated. The Kaizer Chiefs legend lifted two league titles, twice finished as PSL Top Goalscorer, and even won the Eredivisie with FC Twente in the Netherlands, which was before a spell with Red Star Belgrade in Serbia.
