EFF provincial leader Moses Koma rejected the DA’s stance, calling the move unfounded and politically motivated.

“Madam speaker, there is no motion sponsored by Stellenbosch and concocted by Donald Trump that will find expression. We want our land now.”

The MK Party also refused to back the DA’s proposal, saying Lesufi should remain in office. Party representative Thabang Nkani dismissed the motion as an attack without merit.
“As the MK Party, we stand firm and unequivocal against this frivolous motion of no confidence tabled by the DA. The DA is a party founded in 1999 by a racist opposition.”
