A retired prosecutor filed a lawsuit last week in federal court against New York City and Brookfield Properties alleging that he was wrongfully arrested while protesting in a public space against Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.
The protest was over the law firm’s deal with President Donald Trump to provide free legal work, Reuters reports.
Prosecutor David O’Keefe said in the suit he was arrested while staging a protest by himself in April in a privately owned but public space on the pavement outside Skadden’s Manhattan, New York City, office, according to Reuters.
O’Keefe said in the suit he was protesting in an area that allowed Skadden employees on their way into their office building and other passersby to see his protest.
