The Springboks finished a memorable 2025 Test campaign with an exclamation mark win over Wales in Cardiff.
The 73-0 result marked the hosts’ worst-ever home defeat and their first scoreless outing in Cardiff in 33 years. Eleven tries were scored as the Boks closed out an unbeaten European tour in brutal fashion.
Flyhalf Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu was outstanding, finishing with 28 points from two tries and nine conversions. The Springbok scrum pulverised Wales, laying the platform for repeated scores as winger Ethan Hooker, No 8 Jasper Wiese, scrumhalf Morne van den Berg and prop Gerhard Steenekamp all crossed from forward dominance.

Yet late in the match, the mood shifted.
Bok lock Eben Etzebeth was shown a straight red card in the 79th minute for making contact with Wales flank Alex Mann’s eye. The resultant disciplinary process saw the Etzebeth banned for 18 weeks – reduced to 12.
