Jumeirah Beach 1 expansion is 95% complete with 50% more space

New walking and cycling tracks, and world-class leisure facilities, Jumeirah Beach 1 is set to offer residents and visitors an upgraded coastal experience from next month.

    Sheikh Hamdan reviews the project

Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum recently visited the site to review progress.

“I reviewed the Jumeirah Beach 1 development project by Dubai Municipality, part of the plan to upgrade public beach infrastructure. Aligned with the Quality of Life 2033 strategy and the Dubai Urban Master Plan 2040, the project expands the beach area by 50% and is 95% complete, creating a modern, integrated beach that enhances quality of life, offers top experiences for all, and reflects Dubai’s vision for its beaches to be the best and most beautiful in the world,” Sheikh Hamdan shared in an X post alongside a video.

What’s new at Jumeirah Beach 1

The upgrade goes beyond more sand. Visitors can expect:

    • Walking, jogging, and cycling tracks for healthy outdoor activity

    • Recreational and sports facilities for all ages

    • Integrated leisure areas ideal for families and friends

The redesign aims to make the beach a modern, welcoming destination that blends relaxation, fun, and activity in one space.

    Boosting tourism and local investment

The project has introduced over 15 investment opportunities to strengthen local businesses and enhance Dubai’s beach tourism.

    Dubai’s vision for public beaches

“Our vision is to develop a smart, future-ready city with advanced and sustainable infrastructure, world-class public spaces, and beaches that offer integrated services and high-quality experiences,” Sheikh Hamdan said.

Public beaches remain a core part of Dubai Municipality’s sustainable development plans, reflecting the city’s commitment to enhancing both residents’ quality of life and Dubai’s reputation as a global beach destination.
