A polished seaside escape on Palm Jumeirah

    The spot

Set directly on the sands of Vista Mare, The Maine Beach House feels like a natural evolution of the much-loved Dubai-born brand. This is The Maine’s fourth outpost in the city – they currently have locations in JBR, Business Bay and Studio One Hotel (there are also locations in London, Ibiza and Bodrum!) – but its first true beachfront address, and the setting immediately sets it apart. Sun-washed decks lead down to the shoreline, where beach beds and cabanas sit just steps from the water, while a breezy terrace frames uninterrupted views across the Arabian Gulf.

Inspired by New England coastal dining, the space blends relaxed beach club energy, while nautical touches and crisp white finishes give it a timeless feel and the atmosphere shifts effortlessly from languid afternoon lunches to sunset-tinged evenings. It’s the kind of place where arriving by boat wouldn’t feel out of place – and, conveniently, you can.

    The food and drinks

As we arrive and settle into a terrace table we’re immediately hit with the stunning sea vistas stretching out ahead of us. The menu reads like a love letter to coastal classics, balancing fresh seafood with comforting crowd-pleasers and refined grill dishes.

We start with crispy fish tacos, light and generously filled, followed by chargrilled artichokes that arrive smoky and tender. The fish market-style seafood counter is the centrepiece here, showcasing an ever-changing selection of the day’s catch. Choosing feels half the fun, and our pick – simply grilled red snapper – is cooked with restraint, allowing the quality of the fish to shine.

From the heartier plates, the Angry Lobster Pasta delivers just the right amount of indulgence, while sticky short ribs provide a rich, satisfying counterpoint. The menu is clearly designed for sharing, grazing and lingering, whether you’re here for a long lunch or an evening that stretches well past sunset.

    The service

Warm, polished and confident without being overbearing. The team know the menu inside out and guide us through the seafood counter with ease, offering thoughtful recommendations while letting the experience unfold at its own pace.

    What’s On the Bill

Expect mains from around Dhs150 to Dhs300, with market seafood priced by weight. Cocktails and wine selections sit comfortably within The Maine’s premium yet approachable range.

    What’s On verdict

A refined yet relaxed beachfront destination that captures the spirit of coastal dining beautifully. With its enviable setting, consistently strong food and easygoing polish, The Maine Beach House feels set to become one of Palm Jumeirah’s most reliable go-to spots.
