Treble on the cards for Kaizer Chiefs?

Kaizer Chiefs have a rare opportunity to secure a historic continental treble if they manage to lift all the trophies they are currently competing for this season.

Amakhosi remain in the hunt for the Betway Premiership, the Nedbank Cup and the CAF Confederation Cup, and winning all three would see the Soweto giants claim their first-ever treble.

Both Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns have achieved this feat within the past 15 years, but Chiefs have never managed to match it.

However, signs of belief are growing after a rejuvenated start to 2026. Amakhosi have won all four of their matches this year, scoring in every game while yet to concede a single goal.

The big question remains: is a treble realistically possible for Kaizer Chiefs?

Chiefs will begin their Nedbank Cup title defence this week against Stellenbosch FC, having lifted the trophy in May last year.

A positive result would provide a significant confidence boost and strengthen their belief in going all the way once again.

The real challenge, however, lies in balancing a demanding league campaign with continental commitments.

To win the Betway Premiership and the CAF Confederation Cup, Amakhosi will have to overcome fierce competition from the likes of Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns, while also navigating the pressures of knockout football.

With as many as 27 matches still to be played across all competitions, Kaizer Chiefs would likely need to win at least 22 of them to complete the treble realistically.

In the league, they can afford little margin for error, perhaps a single defeat and a draw, while the cup competitions allow no slip-ups at all.

Achieving a treble would demand consistency, squad depth and mental strength at the highest level. It is a daunting task, but if Kaizer Chiefs maintain their current momentum, the dream of a historic treble may not be entirely out of reach.

Will Chiefs win any trophy this season?
