Experience Ramadan in Abu Dhabi with Iftar cannons, live oud music, pop-up markets and family activities at Umm Al Emarat Park

Ramadan in Abu Dhabi settles gently over the lawns of Umm Al Emarat Park this month as Ramadan Nights at the Park returns for a full programme of family-friendly gatherings. After a successful debut last year, the month-long initiative once again turns the capital’s favourite green space into a place to pause, reconnect and share a meal under the open sky. Set against Abu Dhabi’s cooler evenings, the park leans into the spirit of the Holy Month with community-led experiences that celebrate togetherness in the UAE’s Year of Family.

Each evening, the Iftar cannon fires at the Main Gate at Maghrib prayer time. It is a moment that stops conversations mid-sentence as visitors gather to break their fast. The Ramadan Garden opens as a dedicated outdoor Iftar space at Children’s Garden from 6pm to 8:30pm. Live oud music drifts through the air while guests tuck into a menu curated by Emirati chef Mariam Al Mansoori, who draws on family recipes and Emirati hospitality, adding a contemporary touch. Traditional Ramadan drinks are included, with special rates for children aged six to 12 and free entry for little ones under six. Corporate group bookings are also available.

On Fridays and Saturdays from 8pm to 1am, the Promenade hosts a Ramadan Pop-up Market spotlighting small businesses, food vendors and local talent. Expect lantern-making workshops, hakawati storytelling, live Arabic music and familiar traditional characters for the kids.

For those seeking quiet reflection, the Evening Garden hosts wellness sessions including a Full Moon Ceremony on March 4 at 8pm.
