La Baia Dubai may be gone, but there’s something new coming to J1 instead
Dubai’s beach club scene is set for another shake-up, with La Baia by the Beach at J1 Dubai now confirmed to have closed its doors.
The chic seaside spot had quickly become a go-to for sun-soaked lunches, laid-back afternoons by the water and stylish weekend gatherings. Known for its Mediterranean-inspired menu, fun aesthetics and prime beachfront setting, La Baia brought a dose of European Riviera charm to Jumeirah’s coastline. But just months after welcoming guests, the venue has now bowed out.
La Baia Dubai sadly joins a growing list of closures at J1, following the departures of Chou Chou last year and Lunico, only announced this week. Both venues had added to the destination’s buzzy F&B line-up, making J1 one of the city’s most talked-about new dining districts when it launched.
The closures mark a noticeable shift for the beachfront development, which had positioned itself as a curated collection of high-end restaurants and beach concepts. While it’s not unusual for Dubai’s dining scene to evolve quickly, the back-to-back exits will no doubt spark curiosity about what’s next for the space.
For now, fans of La Baia will have to look elsewhere for their fix of coastal Italian flavours and beachfront glamour. As ever in Dubai, though, when one door closes, another usually opens — and we’ll be watching closely to see what arrives at J1 next.
