Emirates, Fly Dubai, Etihad, Air Arabia have all cancelled flight operations for the foreseeable future

Regional tensions are continuing to impact flight schedules across the UAE, with temporary airspace restrictions, cancellations and route changes. If you’ve got travel plans coming up, here’s a clear breakdown of what’s happening — and what to do next.

    Airspace status

The UAE’s aviation authorities have implemented precautionary airspace restrictions in response to the current regional situation.

The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) confirmed that safety remains the top priority, with measures introduced to ensure the protection of passengers and crew. Operations are being reviewed continuously, and further adjustments may be made at short notice depending on developments.

Travellers are strongly advised to check their flight status before leaving for the airport.

    Emirates Airways flight updates

Emirates has temporarily suspended all operations to and from Dubai, up until 3pm UAE time on Tuesday, March 3.

The airline as advised customers who are booked to travel before or on 5 March of their options:

    • Rebook on an alternate flight. You can rebook on another flight to your intended destination for travel on or before 20 March. If you booked with Emirates directly, contact them here.
    • Request for refund. You can request for a refund of your ticket by completing the refund form if you booked with Emirates directly.

If you booked your flights with a travel agent, please contact them.

Customers are also requested to ensure their contact details are correct by visiting Manage Your Booking to receive updates.

    Etihad Airways flight updates

Regional airspace closures continue to impact Etihad Airways’ operations, and all flights to and from Abu Dhabi are suspended until 2pm UAE time on Monday, March 2.

Passengers due to travel are advised to:

    • Check their flight status at etihad.com before travelling to the airport
    • Ensure their contact details are up to date in their booking
    • Guests holding Etihad tickets issued on or before February 28 2026, with original travel dates up to March 7 2026, may rebook free of charge onto Etihad-operated flights up to March 18, 2026.
    • Guests on all Etihad flights until March 3 may request a full refund at etihad.com/en/help/refund-form or through their travel agent.
    • Guests who booked through a travel agent should contact their agent directly.

    flydubai flight updates

    What happens now?

The situation remains fluid, and aviation authorities across the region are reviewing conditions constantly. While safety measures are precautionary, further schedule changes are possible if tensions escalate or additional airspace restrictions are introduced.

For now, flexibility is key. If your travel is non-essential and easily rescheduled, it may be worth considering alternative dates until operations fully stabilise.

We’ll continue to update as more information becomes available.
