If you’ve found yourself feeling tense, distracted, tired, and processing complicated emotions, we understand – we have been on that journey with you.

The UAE is home to many millions of humans from every corner of the globe. This multicultural make-up is one of the things we love most about the country and, along with the protective tenets of tolerance issued by the leadership, gives the UAE a unique societal profundity. But what is perhaps most impressive, is what happens to that diversity in challenging times. It becomes something deeper: neighbours checking in, colleagues showing patience, friends making sure nobody feels isolated. In times like these, community can be an anchor to steady the ship.

We, like you, are incredibly grateful to the country’s leaders, for their ceaseless efforts in keeping the UAE and its people safe, their clear and fact-based communication, and the care they demonstrate in action. It’s an unenviable job, but one they continue to excel in. As a lifestyle and entertainment magazine, our role feels a little redundant at the moment, so consider this message more a case of us… Just checking in. We do care, and we do genuinely want to do what we can to support the community. Your mental wellbeing is part of our responsibility. So please rest. Drink water. Put your phone down for an hour. Make dinner. Be with your family or friends. The world can be serious without having to invest in the minutiae of every minute.

If you’d like some more constructive distractions and ways to find your own moments of calm we’ve shared some of the ones that have worked best for us here. We’ll continue to post important updates from official sources as and when they come in, no bias, no fluff – just the facts. And when you’re ready to enjoy the UAE in all the ways you did before, we’ll be right here waiting with hidden gems and honest reviews, must-visit lists and top cultural picks. You won’t believe number four.

Until then, it’s just love and sincere wishes of wellbeing.
