Each year, Skyscanner – one of the world’s largest travel platforms, with over 100 million visits monthly – analyzes millions of flight, hotel, and car rental searches in more than 30 languages to highlight the most exciting travel trends. The Trending Destinations list has become a key indicator of rising traveler interest and the global appeal of emerging hotspots.

This year, Phu Quoc was the only Vietnamese destination to make the list, coming in second with a 184 percent year-on-year increase in flight search volume.

Phu Quoc is stepping onto the global stage with fresh experiences this festive season.

This dramatic growth reflects Phu Quoc’s expanding international profile, spurred by modern infrastructure developments and attractive tourism policies. Significantly, Phu Quoc remains the only destination in Vietnam to offer visa-free stays of up to 30 days for all foreign visitors.

Currently, the island operates around 30 international flights daily, with a growing number of direct routes connecting it to destinations across the globe. In just the first nine months of 2025, Phu Quoc attracted more than 1.2 million international visitors, surpassing its total for all of 2024, which was 980,000 – setting a new benchmark for the island’s tourism sector.

Skyscanner describes Phu Quoc as “an idyllic escape close to Singapore,” where travelers can “indulge in Phu Quoc’s world-famous fish sauce and seafood, then unwind on stunning beaches like Bai Kem and Bai Sao, also known as two of the world’s most beautiful beaches.”

The island’s pristine beaches with white sand and emerald waters enchant every visitor to Phu Quoc.

The report adds: “From the lush mountains of Guiyang to the serene, stunning beaches of Phu Quoc, these places to travel are turning heads and climbing charts.”

This recognition highlights not just the island’s natural wonders but also its increasingly diverse entertainment and leisure offerings, which continue to boost Phu Quoc’s image among both local and international tourists.

According to Priceline, modern travelers are looking beyond traditional sun-and-sea getaways, craving immersive cultural experiences, dynamic environments, and one-of-a-kind moments.

Phu Quoc has now become synonymous with unique, high-end travel experiences. Often called the island of surprises, it offers nonstop activities, particularly in the southern region. Key attractions include the world’s longest three-cable cable car to Hon Thom Island, the record-breaking “Kiss of the Sea” multimedia show, breathtaking sunset views from the iconic CNN-featured Kiss Bridge, and nightly fireworks over Sunset Town.

The Eric Kayser bakery will bring a “slice of France” to Pearl Island.

Beginning November 1, southern Phu Quoc will unveil even more attractions with the debut of Sunset Bazaar – a new culinary street featuring global dining names, including Vietnam’s first Eric Kayser bakery. Also launching is the revamped “Symphony of the Sea – Season 2,” which will offer upgraded lighting effects, laser displays, fireworks, and performances by world champion jetski and flyboard athletes.

Recognition from top international travel platforms confirms not only Phu Quoc’s timeless charm but also its ascension on the global tourism map. The island has recently won numerous prestigious accolades, including being named Asia’s Most Beautiful Island, ranking in Condé Nast Traveler’s top three global islands, and being listed by Expedia as one of the four most attractive destinations in the world.

A vibrant festive season awaits visitors to Pearl Island.

With the holiday season approaching, Phu Quoc is expected to see a continued influx of global tourists drawn by its rich combination of tropical landscapes, premier entertainment, and international-standard hospitality. The island is gradually overtaking long-established giants like Phuket and Bali, positioning itself as Southeast Asia’s next iconic destination – a place where every moment becomes a tropical adventure. In line with Priceline’s latest travel philosophy, Phu Quoc delivers not just “sand and waves” but “thrills, stories, and unforgettable memories far beyond the tan lines.”
