Reports from Bambui, Tubah in the Northern zone of the Southern Cameroons, confirm the abduction of a pastor and his sister-in-law on the evening of October 22, 2024. The pastor, whose identity remains undisclosed, was returning from Mbingo Hospital, where he had taken his daughter for medical treatment when he was intercepted.

According to sources, the pastor and his sister-in-law, a graduate student at the University of Bamenda, were forcefully taken by heavily armed men around Mile 11 on the Bambui-Big Babanki road at approximately 6:30 PM. The pastor’s car was also seized, and their current location is unknown.

A classmate of the sister-in-law, who was communicating with her via WhatsApp, reported receiving a chilling message during their conversation that simply read: “Danger, they have been surrounded by Amba at Mile 11 Bambui.” After that, the communication ceased. Despite repeated attempts to check on her friend’s status, there was no further response until later that night. When she finally called the phone, a male voice answered, instructing her to call back either in three hours or the following day.

No additional information has surfaced regarding their whereabouts or the identity of the kidnappers. The situation remains tense, as family and friends wait anxiously for more news.
