WASHINGTON, D.C — A bizarre computer-generated video featuring U.S. President Donald Trump sucking on Elon Musk’s feet played for several minutes on televisions inside a federal office building in Washington, D.C., as employees returned to work on Monday.

The video, which was overlaid with the phrase “LONG LIVE THE REAL KING,” reportedly looped for five to ten minutes across multiple monitors at the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) before officials scrambled to shut it down.

Feb. 24 marked the first day of the Trump administration’s new “return to office” policy, which bans remote work for federal employees.

Independent journalist Marisa Kabas shared a clip of the incident on Bluesky, writing: “Building staff couldn’t figure out how to turn it off so sent people to every floor to unplug TVs.”

In a statement to The Hill, HUD spokesperson Kasey Lovett condemned the stunt, calling it “another waste of taxpayer dollars and resources,” and confirmed that “appropriate action will be taken for all involved.”

The disruption comes as tensions between federal workers and the Trump administration escalate. Over the weekend, Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) sent an email to two million federal employees demanding they submit a list of their job responsibilities in bullet points—or face termination.

Musk later wrote on X that “failure to respond will be taken as a resignation.” Multiple agencies have advised employees not to comply with the request.
