Nairobi — Kenya has been ranked fourth in Africa for embracing digital technology in its tourism sector, highlighting its growing reputation as a tech-driven travel destination.
The ranking was announced in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, during a global tourism forum that showcased how innovation is transforming the industry.
A major driver of the progress is the Kenya Tourism Board’s (KTB) digital campaign promoting destinations such as the Maasai Mara, the coast, cultural heritage sites, and urban attractions to global audiences.
“The announcement in Riyadh is a testament that the world out here is watching Kenya and wants to know more about this country,” said Tourism Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano.
“We are working tirelessly to ensure we clinch the first position. We have a lot coming, especially involving our young people.”
Kenya trails South Africa, Mauritius, and Botswana in the continental rankings, while the United States leads globally.
