Akani Simbine added to his clittering CV when he won the first Diamond League men’s 100m race of the season in 9.99 seconds at the Egret Stadium in Xiamen, China.
The South African three-time Olympian beat a stacked field including Olympic 200m champion Letsile Tebogo and forer woprld champion Christian Coleman.
Kenya’s Fernidand Omanyana followed Simbine across the line in 10.13, with Great Britain’s Jeremiah Azu third in 10.17.
Tebogo had to be content with seventh place in the 10-man field as he finished in a time of 10.20.
