American Pie actor Shannon Elizabeth is reflecting on how South Africa changed her life after moving here years ago.
Taking to Instagram, the actor shared a picture of herself in Cape Town and reflected on how much the country has changed her life.
“One of my favourite places in South Africa. There’s something about being here that instantly makes me slow down, breathe a little deeper, and appreciate how beautiful this country truly is,” she captioned her post.
She went on to share that the country had changed her life in so many ways. ‘It has challenged me, inspired me, broken my heart at times, and filled it in ways I never expected. I honestly can’t imagine my life without it now. Grateful for moments like this… and for sunsets that remind us just how magical this place really is.‘
The actor first visited the country in 2015 through her involvement with the Save African Rhino Foundation, and later established the Shannon Elizabeth Foundation in Cape Town in 2018.
Elizabeth is not the only Hollywood star finding meaning in South Africa. Gabrielle Union recently shared an emotional moment from her trip to Cape Town.
Union took to Instagram and posted a touching reel documenting the experience, which drew an outpouring of love and support from fans worldwide.
The ashes of her father, Sylvester Union Jr, who died in April 2026, were buried beneath grapevines she and husband, Dwyane Wade, had planted at a wine estate during a previous visit.
‘May you nourish the earth the way you nourished us. May the blessings be bountiful. May the abundance be wrapped in peace, kindness and consideration. May the legacy continue,’ she wrote in the caption of a video of the ceremony on Instagram.
