The Team SA football boys are the Region 5 Youth Games champions after a dominant 3-0 over Malawi at UNAM Stadium in Windhoek. The girls played the game before and secured the silver medal after an unlucky 2-0 loss to Zambia, writes Mark Lemke. The boys, all under-17s, took the lead in the fifth minute when Emile Witbooi whipped a free kick towards the back post, where central defender Njabulo Mzimela smashed home the opener. Malawi grew into the game but were unable to create a threat and play remained balanced until half-time. The second half was an onslaught from…

Photo Credit: Kelechi Amadi-Obi/Instagram The looks for Rita Dominic’s 50th birthday are rolling in, and this navy mini dress is nothing short of a fashion moment. Draped in sequins with a soft cowl neckline and a flattering halter cut, Rita reminds us that turning 50 is just another excuse to raise the style bar even higher. The dress, equal parts bold and refined, stops mid-thigh to show off her legs, while the subtle shimmer adds dimension without doing too much. It’s the kind of look that speaks volumes without shouting, a quiet stunner. Her hair, a full, sculpted crown of…
All-rounder Eliz-Mari Marx top-scored with a half-century to guide the CSA Women’s Emerging to a three-wicket victory over Namibia in the third and final 50-over match, to win the away series 2-1 at the High Performance Oval in Windhoek on Saturday, 12 July 2025. Marx recorded a 65-ball 64, including nine fours and one six, in South Africa’s successful chase, the majority of her runs coming from a 78-run partnership with no. 7 Elihle Luyanda, after Kayla Reyneke had claimed top bowling figures of three for 32 in the visitor’s fielding effort to restrict the hosts to 205/9. The sides…
The Springboks took a move straight out of a schoolboy playbook to devastating effect in their 45-0 win over Italy in Port Elizabeth on Saturday. Coach Rassie Erasmus revealed that the midfield maul setup that led to tries by Canan Moodie and Malcolm Marx was “borrowed” from a Paul Roos Gymnasium U14 team. “We noticed it with Paul Roos U14s,” Erasmus said after the Test at a packed Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium. “It worked for us, but people will look out for it now. I think we won’t be able to do it for a few games.” 😂🙌 Midfield lineout…
Tyla turns up the heat with “Is It,” a sleek, rhythm-heavy track that lingers in the space between desire and restraint. Known for pairing sultry vocals with striking visuals, the Grammy-winning star dives deep into the thrill of attraction and the questions that come with it. This time, she’s not just singing about what-if feelings, she’s dancing through them too. At its core, “Is It” explores flirtation — that magnetic pull between two people unsure of their next move but unable to look away. Discussions surrounding England’s inability to play spin are beginning to sound like a broken record. Without a doubt, however, it is their most pressing concern. In 2022, England averaged 42.3 against spin in T20s, losing 25 wickets. The following year, they lost 46 wickets at an average of 18, and so far in 2025 they have lost 41 at 19.9. Their gameplan against slow bowling seems muddled, torn between attack and defence with batters regularly trapped on the crease or caught from attempted aggression. And while the approaching World Cup is in the longer format of the game, England’s opponents…
