The new service will officially take off on 2 October 2025, operating three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
As reported by Business Tech, the route aims to improve access to the central Kruger region and surrounding private game reserves in Limpopo, complementing FlySafair’s existing service to Mbombela, gateway to southern Kruger.
Tickets will go on sale in July, with fares starting from R1,570 one way, subject to availability.
“Hoedspruit is a gateway to the Kruger National Park and surrounding private reserves, and we’re proud to offer travellers a more affordable and convenient way to reach this incredible region,” said Kirby Gordon, FlySafair’s Chief Marketing Officer.
In addition to launching the Cape Town–Hoedspruit route, FlySafair is increasing the frequency of its Cape Town–Mbombela service to daily flights, offering travellers expanded access to two of South Africa’s most iconic safari destinations.
The move comes as South Africa’s domestic aviation market continues its post-pandemic recovery. Several major carriers, including Comair and Mango, ceased operations during the COVID-19 crisis, but low-cost airlines like FlySafair have continued to expand their footprint across the country.
