ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) – A disgruntled tenant is accused of killing three workers in his Minnesota apartment complex’s leasing office over a parking garage contract dispute.
Tsegaab Binessu, 30, faces three felony counts of second-degree murder after three people were fatally shot Monday at the Davern Park Apartments in St. Paul. According to charges filed in Ramsey County, Binessu confessed to his roommate, saying he “argued with apartment management and ended up killing three people.”
The victims, who all worked at the apartment complex, were identified as 25-year-old Nansi Fuentes Zambrano, 56-year-old Dena Silcox and 43-year-old Adam Wilwerding.
St. Paul Police say surveillance video shows Binessu “executed the people in the leasing office,” even shooting one victim who was “trying to escape from an office window when she was shot.”
In an interview with police, Binessu said he had recently sold his car because he was planning to join the military. He said he tried to get out of his garage parking contract, but the leasing office told him it couldn’t be changed.
Police arrested Binessu later Monday night in Virginia, Minnesota, about 200 miles north of St. Paul. He was driving one of the victim’s cars and had what appeared to be newly purchased camping gear, his U.S. passport and an empty handgun magazine, according to police.
