BUEA, Cameroon – The Presbyterian Church in Cameroon (PCC) is set to reveal its final contenders for the positions of Moderator and Synod Clerk following a crucial Synod Committee meeting at the PRESFLATS Synod office in Buea.

This meeting presided over by outgoing Moderator Rev. Fonki Samuel Forba under the theme “The Synod of Assurance,” marks a decisive step in determining the church’s next leaders.

Currently, Rev. Miki Hans and Rev. Jongai Polycarp are vying for the Moderator’s position, while Rev. Ayuk Solomon and Rev. Mokoko Elive remain in contention for Synod Clerk. However, one candidate from each category will be eliminated at the conclusion of the Synod Committee deliberations. This stage follows the recent Presbytery-level nominations, where Rev. Numfor and Rev. Mokoko Thomas were eliminated after placing third in their respective contests.

The PCC elections, slated for Monday, November 18, 2024, will usher in a new era of leadership as the church bids farewell to Rev. Fonki’s tenure. The decisions made during the Synod Committee meeting will set the tone for the highly anticipated vote.

All eyes are now on the PRESFLATS Synod office as members of the church await the final list of candidates poised to shape the future of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon.
