Pirates head coach, Jose Riveiro will be leaving at the end of the season.

Meaning, these will be his final Soweto derbies in charge of the Bucs. Saturdays fixture between the Bucs and Amakhosi will be his final Soweto derby in the BetWay Premeriship.

Thereafter, he will take charge of his final Soweto derby in charge of Pirates in the Nedbank Cup final.

This will give Bucs fans extra motivation and fuel. After all, Riveiro is regarded as one of the best Bucs coaches given his tremendous success with the club. Riveiro has led Pirates to five trophies – three MTN8 trophies and two Nedbank Cups.

    NEW CLUB CAPTAIN IMMINENT

Whoever replaced Riveiro will have his work cut out for him.

Firstly, he will have big boots to fill following Riveiros succusful run. Thereafter, he will likely need to appoint a new Pirates captain. This is because cliub captain, Innocent Maela’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Bucs management have offered him a new non-playing role in the club. Meaning, they do not want to extend his contract as a player. So, the Bucs will likely have a new club captain selected by their new coach next season.

WHAT DO YOU THINK THE SCORE WILL BE IN BOTH SOWETO DERBIES BETWEEN PIRATES AND CHIEFS? WHO SHOULD BE THE NEXT BUCS COACH AND CAPTAIN?
