Franschhoek Wine Valley is set to host the beloved Franschhoek Bastille Festival in July.

Known as the Cape’s very own French outpost, the valley promises a weekend filled with great food and wine. This year, in celebration of French culture, fine wine and gourmet cuisine, the event finds a new location in the heart of the village – the Hospice parking area.

Now in its 33rd year, Franschhoek’s Bastille Festival continues to blend the valley’s French roots with its world-class hospitality, offering something for every palate and passion.

Guests can look forward to the signature experience – a ticketed celebration where wine and cheese tastings, artisanal stalls, live entertainment and the ever-popular best-dressed competition take centre stage.

Visitors are encouraged to don their finest blue, white and red for a chance to win, embracing the French-inspired tradition of the weekend.

Each Bastille ticket includes a festival wine glass and ten tasting tokens to be redeemed at participating wineries.

Adding an elevated layer to the weekend is the debut of Uncorked Exclusive, a new and intimate wine-tasting activation showcasing select wines from the valley. This refined experience offers discerning wine lovers the opportunity to explore rare and premium pours in a more curated setting.

Beyond the ticketed areas, the village itself will be buzzing with activity. Church Street’s pedestrian walkway and Celebration Square transform into a lively food fair, offering a delectable array of flavours, entertainment and street performances.

Franschhoek also comes alive with musical energy throughout the weekend, as the iconic Bastille experience delivers a standout musical offering that blends French flair with dynamic live performances.

Rhythm DiVine ignites the festivities with funky French DJ beats that transition into exhilarating live performances featuring live saxophone, violin and percussion while Cape Town’s beloved band Tuxedo adds to the excitement, delivering a powerhouse setlist packed with crowd favourites.

A vibrant opening ceremony will set the tone for the weekend, inviting festivalgoers to arrive early and embrace the festivities from the first toast.

Whether enjoying the timeless charm of the festival, discovering new favourite fine wines, or simply soaking in the spirited village atmosphere, Franschhoek Bastille 2025 promises an unforgettable celebration.

Please note: Entry to Bastille is reserved for guests 18 and older
