Google has that it is expanding its free personalised image creation features within the Gemini app to a wider audience. The company has announced that all eligible users in the US can access the advanced tools without paying a subscription fee. The update leverages what Google calls “Personal Intelligence”, which is a system designed to make the AI app feel completely tailored to individual users. With a user’s explicit permission, Gemini can now pull contextual details from an individual’s personal Google ecosystem, including Gmail, Google Photos, YouTube and Google Search, to generate highly relevant, personal and customised visual content.“You’re in control. Connecting your Google apps to Gemini remains an opt-in experience that you can adjust in your settings at any time,” the company said.

Syncing with Google Photos and ‘Nano Banana

The company said that this rollout connects Google’s Personal Intelligence framework with its ‘Nano Banana’ processing model and the Google Photos platform. The integration allows the AI to automatically look at a user’s connected apps to understand their unique lifestyle, aesthetic preferences and personal appearance. The biggest shift for consumers is the elimination of tedious, paragraphs-long text descriptions.“Now, instead of writing out the intricate details of your life, you can use simple prompts like ‘design my dream house.’ And because Gemini can pull actual images of you from Google Photos, you no longer need to manually upload photos when prompting ‘create an illustration of me and my favorite things.’ Gemini pulls the right context from your connected Google apps, letting you spend less time explaining and more time creating,” Google said in a post. The system is said to be engineered to handle the tedious background context automatically, allowing creators to spend less time explaining things to the computer and more time focused on the creative process.Get the latest technology news and updates.
