APC Youth Network West Africa Director-General, Olatunde Igbasan

The APC Youth Network West Africa has expanded its humanitarian efforts through its “Food Sharing for the Needy” initiative, providing food assistance to vulnerable individuals and families in Lagos.

The initiative, led by the group’s Director-General, Olatunde Igbasan, has continued to provide regular food distributions to disadvantaged households, according to a statement made available to our correspondent on Saturday.

During the group’s weekly feeding outreach in Lagos, the Director of Welfare, Salaudeen Shehu-Tijani, said more than 1,000 people benefited from the third edition of the programme.

He added that about 850 beneficiaries were recorded during the second week.

Shehu-Tijani stated that the weekly outreach takes place every Friday and involves the distribution of cooked meals and raw food packages to people unable to receive prepared meals.

He said the organisation supports President Bola Tinubu’s administration and hopes to complement government efforts through its welfare programmes.

He also encouraged Nigerians to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards and participate in the electoral process, highlighting INEC’s self-service registration options.

The group’s Media Directorate and Publicity representative, Teresa Adeyemi, said the initiative was inspired by Igbasan’s humble background and personal experiences growing up in Bariga, Lagos.

She explained that his understanding of the struggles faced by ordinary Nigerians motivated him to give back through humanitarian programmes.
