gsport has received another major recognition—this time from Brand South Africa, the country’s official marketing agency.

At a gathering in Sandton on Tuesday, gsport Founder Kass Naidoo accepted the Most Active Play Your Part Ambassador award, celebrating gsport’s commitment to raising the profile of women’s sport and driving corporate investment in the space.

Reflecting on gsport’s journey since its launch in 2006, Naidoo said: “Brand South Africa first noticed gsport in 2012 when they published our story on their website.”

“In 2017, they attended the gsport Awards and produced an AV of the event, promoting it across their platforms. Then, in 2019, we officially joined the Play Your Part program, unlocking new opportunities to grow our impact.”

She also credited Brand South Africa’s Sithembile Ntombela, for her unwavering support:

“Sithembile Ntombela has believed in gsport from the start and continues to help us amplify our efforts to advance women’s sport. As we approach our 20th gsport Awards, this recognition is dedicated to every individual playing their part to change the game.”

Since its inception, gsport has evolved into a critical skills development initiative, equipping women in sport with career-defining opportunities and professional experience while securing employment through gsport.
